AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 1:4 just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. In love |
Subject: Predestination |
Bible Note: Understand that in 20 years of soul winning I have never seen a person that was born again from a non-church background that believed that some were going to be saved and some were not and the ones that were have no choice in the matter as it relates to having faith when God is calling, or the ones that are lost have no hope of having faith. The only time I have met those with this sort of understanding of the elect are when they have read Calvin or some other writer that after many many convincing words they are indoctrinated to that view. When people take the desert Island approach and forget everything they have been told, they will usually see it like this... God mad man to be saved and live with Him forever. Man fell. God could have wiped it all way but he started over again with Noah. We know some will not repent and they go to hell God does not want anyone to go to hell but wants all to be saved. But since some will not, God does not wipe them out instantly but uses them for His glory, Pharoah is an example. God was greatly glorified in the method in which He delivered Israel, and when He was done he drowned Pharoah in the sea. Pharoah was still to blame, Pharoah hardened his heart and so God hardened Pharoah's heart in judgement. God is not willing that any perish but that all come to eternal life through faith in His Son God predestined Jesus to die for man so that man might be save. All those that believe that enter into the company of the elect. Those that scoff at it and pass it off as a light thing are destined to destruction. Can they get out of their destiny? Yes we were all children of wrath, but we were translated out of darkness into light. Consider babies. Do you thing babies that die go to heaven? Please say "of course" If a person of this no free will camp believes what they say they will tell you that some babies go to hell and some to heaven. Now if you think God sends babies to hell you do not know God. end of story. God is Love and Justice, and Mercy and Righteousness and Holiness and Infinitely Good, and no babies go to hell. Now if babies are all part of the elect and we were all babies, and at some time during our growing up we become children of wrath because of what we do then it must be that 1) you can be the elect then not be then be again or 2) being the elect applies to all those that put their faith in the one Predestined from the foundation of the earth to supply salvation for mankind and now all those who will may come. Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. :) Makes you think God put that in the last chapter of the Bible Because he knew there would be those of this false doctrine trying to use predestination and no free will to confuse saints in the last days. |
