AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ephesians 1:4 just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. In love |
Subject: Predestination |
Bible Note: We do not know who God has or has not chosen. It is not up to us to decide. All we can say is that before we were Christians we heard the Word "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved." we believed. then we found out that we were forknown and predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ. Even John Calvin taught : As the ministers of the Gospel, and those who are called to the office of teaching, cannot distinguish between the children of God and swine, it is their duty to present the doctrine of salvation indiscriminately to all. Though many may appear to them, at first, to be hardened and unyielding, yet charity forbids that such persons should be immediately pronounced to be desperate. |
