Bible Question: How would the church beable to be refind, to become that perfect bride for Jesus if we dont go through the tribulation? |
Bible Answer: Dear cmfrantz, The perfecting of the church is a matter of God's work (Zechariah 6:12-13; Ephesians 2:10-22). Remember that the church are all of the Father's elect, effectually redeemed by the Son, and the renewing / sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit. This temple, made without hands, includes people from every period in history, of every culture, and of every language. How would going "through the tribulation" (sic) make any difference to the church from a thousand years ago? Nevertheless, there has never been a period in history where the church has not suffered -- to one degree or another. One needn't believe in some future tribulation as a essential component of God's eternal purpose for His people. If we belong to Him, we will all certainly face chastening and scourging (Hebrews 12:6-7). Nevertheless, we also have the confident expectation of glory (1 Peter 5:10). In Him, Doc |
