AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at [the sound of] the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [who believed in Christ] will be raised imperishable, and we will be [completely] changed [wondrously transformed]. |
Bible Question: isn't the seventieth week the tribulation week? if the trumpet is blown after the seventieth week then it must be the 7th trumpet from revalations. That trumpet is blown at the end of the great tribulation with the bowls to follow right after that. The angel blows the trumet but with the direction coming from God. Please reply. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Cmfrantz, I appreciate your request for more information! From my eschatological point of view, the (Daniel's) seventieth week is the final seven years of Gentile domination of the nation of Israel while Israel is still occupying the city of Jerusalem. When the seventieth week is complete, Gentile domination of Israel will be brought to an end because God will consider the sin of Israel atoned for; the Jews will be brought to a point of repentance as a nation; and the earth will be prepared for the resumption of the rule of God. The seventieth week will be initiated when Antichrist (incognito) makes a covenant with Israel. At the midpoint of this final seven years, Antichrist will renege on his covenant, conquer Jerusalem, set up his throne in the sacred part of the temple, and demand world rule and worship, initiating the great tribulation or persecution of the elect of God and the unbelieving nation of Israel who refuse to submit to his leadership. Sometime during the second half of the seventieth week, Christ will come again, deliver or rapture the faithful elect of God which, in turn, will initiate God's Day-of-the-Lord wrath on the wicked who remain. The seventieth week will end seventy-five days before the millennial rule of Christ begins on earth. (1) The trumpet of God is a heavenly trumpet blown by God the Father on two distinct but parallel occasions. The first blowing of a trumpet by Almighty God occurred just before God delivered Israel from Antiochus Epiphanes and his armies and is recorded by the prophet Zechariah. The only other time given in Scripture when He again blows His heavenly trumpet will occur just before Christ raptures His faithful church that has denied Antichrist and initiates His Day-of-the-Lord wrath against the wicked that remain. (1) The Seven Trumpet Judgments are the beginning of the wrath of God that occurs during the Day of the Lord. The seven trumpet judgments (administered by the angels, the reapers of God) will fall upon the kingdom of darkness beginning immediately after the true church is raptured. The first six trumpet judgments will occur during the second half of the seventieth week of Daniel, up until the end of this seven-year period. The seventh trumpet judgment will sound just after the little scroll is opened (describing the events that occur after the seventieth week is complete), and will include the bowl judgments and the Battle of Armageddon, the final wrath of God. Of all the trumpet judgments, the seventh trumpet judgment is by far the most important, establishing the return of earth's control back to God Almighty, and initiating the final wrath of God upon the citizens of Satan's kingdom of darkness. (1) Just prior to the sounding of the Seventh Trumpet, the Lord will remove the spiritual blinders from the eyes of the surviving remnant of Israel and will bring them in faith to Himself, completing the spiritual Kingdom of God and fulfilling the final condition necessary for the return of earth's rule to God Almighty. The seventh trumpet will sound on probably the fifth day of the thirty-day Reclamation Period, when Christ is on top of Mount Zion with the 144,000, celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. At its blowing, reign over earth will be reclaimed by God Almighty, thereby initiating the final wrath of God (the bowl judgments and the Battle of Armageddon), when Antichrist and his armies are destroyed and the physical possession of earth is given to Christ. (1) This, of course, is the explanation of my point of view of eschatology. Blessings to you, Makarios (1) pgs 509-510, 515-516 of "The Sign", copyright 1992 Robert Van Kampen, Crossway Books |
