NASB | 1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at [the sound of] the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [who believed in Christ] will be raised imperishable, and we will be [completely] changed [wondrously transformed]. |
Bible Question: isn't the seventieth week the tribulation week? if the trumpet is blown after the seventieth week then it must be the 7th trumpet from revalations. That trumpet is blown at the end of the great tribulation with the bowls to follow right after that. The angel blows the trumet but with the direction coming from God. Please reply. |
Bible Answer: Hi, cmfrantz... Welcome to the forum! I think you're assuming a very dispensational perspective of apocalyptic prophecy. We have to test the soundness of our presuppositions before building upon them. You might want to see what a variety of scholars have commented on this verse: http://www.ccel.org/wwsb/1Corinthians/15/52.html Just my two cents. I have to admit, though, that I'm not a big fan of the "Left Behind" stories. In Him, Doc |
