AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at [the sound of] the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [who believed in Christ] will be raised imperishable, and we will be [completely] changed [wondrously transformed]. |
Bible Question: 1 corinthians 15:52 says that we will be taken up at the last trumpet. Does this mean the 7th trumpet in the book of revelations? If not, what last trumpet is it refering to. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Cmfrantz, You ask, "1 corinthians 15:52 says that we will be taken up at the last trumpet. Does this mean the 7th trumpet in the book of revelations? If not, what last trumpet is it refering to." My Answer: Depending on your view of end time events, 'the last trumpet' spoken of in 1 Cor. 15:52 is not necessarily the same trumpet that is spoken of in Revelation 11:15. First of all, the seven trumpets in Revelation were all blown by angels (Rev. 8:2,6), but the trumpet spoken of in 1 Cor. 15:52 is the trumpet of God (1 Thess. 4:16). Also, the seventh trumpet in Revelation 11:15 is not necessarily the 'last' trumpet, since the trumpet blast spoken of in Isaiah 27:12-13 and Zechariah 9:14-16 could be interpreted as taking place AFTER the seventieth week (see Daniel 9) is complete.
