AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 15:27 For HE (the Father) HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS (Christ's) FEET. But when He says, "All things have been put in subjection [under Christ]," it is clear that He (the Father) who put all things in subjection to Him (Christ) is excepted [since the Father is not in subjection to His own Son]. Subject: What's Jesus' position? |
Bible Note: Hi Stokey, Here are your Scripture references. Please excuse the parentheses which are mine for suggested comparison. Matthew 15:3-6, "And He answered and said to them, "And why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the said of your tradition? For (God) said, 'Honor your father and mother...5 "But you say,"...has been given to God," 6 he is not to honor his father or his mother. And thus you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition." That is an example of the danger of invalidation because of adding to the Scriptures. Psalm 83:18, "That them may know that Thou alone, whose name is the Lord, Art the (Most) High over all the earth." A companion verse could be John 17:3, "And this is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true (God), and Jesus Christ whom Thou hast sent. I glorified Thee on the earth, having accomplished the work which Thou/ hast given Me to do. And now, glorify Thou (Me) together with Thyself, Father, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was. I manifested Thy/ name..." Matthew 6:9, "Pray, then, in this way: 'Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy/ name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven..." [For (Thine) is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen] John 12:28, "Father, glorify Thy name." There came therefore a voice out of heaven: "I/ have both glorified it, and will glorify it again." The multitude therefore, who stood by and heard it, were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, "An angel has spoken to Him." Jesus answered and said, "This voice has not come for (My) sake, but for your sakes." John 17:26, "and I have made Thy name known to them, and will make it known; that the love wherewith Thou didst love Me may be in them, and I/ in them." John 10:27,28, "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I/ give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. My (Father) who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are *One." The Jews took up stones to stone Him/." 1 John 5:5, "And who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that (Jesus) is the Son of God? This is the *One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ;..." 1 John 5:6, NKJ, "This is He who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ;..." 1 Corinthians 15:27, "For He has put all things in subjection under His/ feet. But when He says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. And when all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, that God/ may be all in all." I hope that these comparisons will help us to see that God is true and that Jesus and the Father are One. 1 John 5:7, "And it is the Spirit/ who bears witness, because the Spirit is the truth.
