Subject: The ransom - God or man? |
Bible Note: Greetings Alien Resident! This has been an interesting discussion. May I interject? If I understand your position, you seem to be saying that 'any' perfect man could have paid our ransom with his life. However, in the verses you cite, the point seems to be quite clear that only Christ could have been that man. You cite: 1 Cor 15: 21,22: "For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive." But, the man is identified as 'Christ', not just any man. In the same way, 1 Tim. 2:5-6 identifies the 'man' as Christ Jesus. So, I would argue that only Christ could have been our ransom.
