Subject: The ransom - God or man? |
Bible Note: You say "Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness." Jesus said "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." This means everlasting life, "knowing the only true God and the one he sent forth, Jesus Christ." (John 17:3) God could have made the whole earth a Paradise - Why did he place Adam in a garden portion and assign him and his offspring to do it? God can make the rocks cry out - Why does he expect Christians to tell the good news? Yes, God can do anything, but in this case also, he has a reason for doing what he did. Divine justice and a reply to Satan's lies required that someone of Adam's equivalent stand in. No one would ever know whether a perfect man could have resisted Satan if God himself stood in. There's no mystery, it just is not the ending too many have been lead to accept. I agree Jesus had a prehuman existence as indicated by 1 Tim 3:16. In fact, this is necessary for the Messiah as I've pointed out previously. Sincerely. |
