Subject: The ransom - God or man? |
Bible Note: Hi, alienresident, the Scriptures do support the fact that the ransom had to be God. Isaiah 43:11 "I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." Isaiah 49:26 ". . . and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob." Luke 1:47 and 2:11 "And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." Mark 10:45 "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." 1 Timothy 2:5-6 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." What kind of basis are you looking for? Are you suggesting that any man could have given his life for the sins of the world? The other Adam, or man, is the Man Jesus Christ who is God in the flesh. He is the only One worthy to be the sacrifice/ransom for man's sin. WalkingTalkingBible |
