Bible Note: Alien, Actually, He's still both God AND man. Fully Divine and fully human- eternally! As to your question : "Did the ransom need to be God? Again, I can find no reason to support this." Any answer outside of scripture would be speculative at best, since God in His eternal plan designated a Savior, His Son, Jesus Christ. Did the ranson need to be God? Yes. Who else could it have been? I think we need to stay within the bounds of scripture when considering a question of this nature.
