Subject: The ransom - God or man? |
Bible Note: You said: "This passage (Ex. 21:30) concerns the civil laws of the Mosaic Law. It may or may not be applicable to God Himself." I profess that God will not violate a law that he expects us to keep. Thus He gave his only Son as great cost to Him rather than creating a new Adam. If Psalm 49:7,8 "proves that God Himself would have to pay the ransom," then Jesus was not a man at all. This God/man mystery has alway irritated me. As regards, Rom 5:14, in what way did Adam imperfectly foreshadow Christ? He perfectly foreshadowed him in his nature as a sinless man, but I fail to see how he typified Christ imperfectly. The high priest prefigured Jesus in Paul's explanation, not Adam. Adam's sin is the reason why the whole law, priesthood and sacrifice arrangement were instituted. |
