Subject: The ransom - God or man? |
Bible Note: Satan's world would have us believe that one person's life may have more value than another. (We think of perhaps the president and someone taking a bullet for him.) But God is not partial. (Acts 10:34,35) The distinction with the ransom, however, is the life had to be perfect. Any perfect creature could stand in for another perfect creature, and any sinful creature could do the same for his sinful brother. One could argue: "God can do whatever he wants!" But will he do so and if it means violating his own laws? Of course not! Jesus called the Pharisees "hypocrites" for such behavior. Yes, He would never do something that would cause his intelligent creatures to loose respect for his position as Universal Sovereign, which is just what Satan wants. |
