Subject: Women speak in church? |
Bible Note: The reason for the scripture as I receive it is not that a women shouldn't preach or teach in a church but that they not have authority over their husbands. We know that man is head of the wife and we are to be submissive to the husband, but I am a widow and while my husband was living he encouraged me to seek the call God has on my life. I am an Evangelist in my church and My Pastor recommended me to seek that goal. The problem in Corinth at that time the women were not submissive to their husbands and consider themselves to be equal to the man. Paul was addressing a certain situation in the Corinth church. Paul jobs was to establish churches and set order and that was the order for that church at that time. God is the true vine and we are the branches. That means all Christians, men and women alike. We have to have an open mind and an open heart to receive the word of God from whomever God chooses. Paul wrote the book of Corinthians, this was not a commandment from God. But this was an order of the church in Corinth at that present time. If women were not allowed to speak in church, that would mean that men ran the services, the praise, the testimony, the Womens'Day, Easter programs, Christmas plays etc. That would mean that we weren't allowed to pray in church, praise God in church. The Bible tell us to not quench the Spirit so how can you remain unmoved when the Holy Spirit is moving in your soul, come on now. Go beyond the egotistics of the way you are interpreting and see that there was a problem in the church in Corinth between the women and the men and who was in authority over whom. God does not ordain us to become Evangelist and Missionaries and not have anything to say in Jesus name. Come on be realistic and open-hearted. Not puff-up. |
