Bible Question:
Good Morning Can you tell me where the church is described as the bride of Christ? I did a search and this is what I found: Revelation 21:9-10 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Rom 7:4; 1Co 6:15; 2Co 11:2; Eph 5:23-32 ... Greetings ... The above shows me the church is His bride. But so is Israel (Isa 54:1-6; Jer 31:3-12; Eze 16:8-14; Hos 2:19-20; Mat 15:24; Jhn 3:29). Does that mean He has two brides? No. We are grafted into Israel (Rom 11:17ff) ... so when we see the bride in Revelation 19:7-9, 21:2ff, she is all His people, not just the church or Israel. I hope this helps, Searcher |
