AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed--united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life]. Subject: Can anyone explain? |
Bible Note: "Everything we will know about God will be revealed to us by the Holy Ghost." In elaborating on this statement, I will use Scripture, keeping in mind that God is His Word. Matthew 11:27 says, "All things are delivered unto Me of My Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him." This verse shows us that no man knows the Son (or the Word), but the Father. The Son is Jesus, Who is the Word in the flesh (John 1:1, 14). The Word is only revealed by the Father through the Holy Ghost: John 16:13 says, "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come." The second statement I made is about those who lean to their own understanding of the Word; those who are not filled with the Holy Ghost and led by Him. Those who read the Bible and "teach" themselves. Those who don't know God, but know of Him. 1 Corinthians 2:12-14 says, "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." No, be comforted to know that I'm not suggesting neither that the Word of God doesn't teach us, nor that we don't learn by it, I'm saying that we can't teach ourselves. It is the Holy Ghost that teaches us all things (John 14:26). Although, everyone preaching is not preaching sound doctrine, the fivefold ministry is very important to the spiritual growth of the believer. God knows every heart and if one wants to really know the truth, He will guide him to a church where the truth is being taught. But if one just wants to be self righteous, then he will search for a place that is saying what he wants to hear. It's so important to be filled with the Holy Ghost and learn because after hearing the preacher/teacher, one needs to be able to study and meditate on the Scriptures learned so they can be put into action. Ephesians 4:17-18 says, "This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:" Does this help clear those two statements up?
