Subject: Sin and the believer? |
Bible Note: mommapbs I agree works can be the yeast of phariseeism but does that make it a dirty word? We have so eliminated works from the church that what we have now is nothing more than a bunch of pew warmers. The Law still exists, true through it we can not achieve salvation but it remains the standard by which we are to live. We have convinced ourselves all we have to do is show up once a week, reply "by the blood of Jesus" when asked for hope of our salvation and live like hell and we will make it into heaven. I think not! Our very lives should testify of the glory of the Lord, but if we are mired down in sin without seeking repentance our life testifies of nothing more that effects of sin. we are called servants of God the servant implies there is work required, that work is fruit. If we produce no fruit we are useless and Christ tells us we will be removed from the tree. EdB |
