Subject: Can anyone explain? |
Bible Note: I'm glad to hear that your faith is not based on feelings. I am more concerned with your statement "how much more of Him can I get?" Yes, as a believer, all of the promises of God are open to you. But that's why I asked all of those questions, have you attained all of the promises He has for you? Remember when God promised the Israelites "a land flowing with milk and honey? (starting at Exodus 3)" They had to go through the wilderness to get there. Yes, He had many promises for them in the promised land, but they had to get there. So it is with all of the promises He has for us. We already have Salvation through Jesus and some of us, the Holy Ghost, but there are many, many more - including eternal life with Him. All of the people who were promised the land didn't make it there. Same with some who call themselves believers - not all are going to have eternal life with God (Matthew 7:21). The reason I stated, "Don't be deceived - God is more than what theology teaches" is because God is not a subject to be studied. To study Him as a subject means to find out all that's available about Him and bring it to an understanding acceptable to the mind and to enable operation in what is naturally desired. God is a living being and He told us to "study to show ourselves approved" unto Him! If I were to study you, how much can I learn without you telling me things about you, there are probably things about you that you haven't discovered. Everything we will know about God will be revealed to us by the Holy Ghost. To know more about Him is to get closer to Him in our walk with Him. Theology doesn't teach one to "know" God, it teaches one "about" God. Both are needed to make to be with God. See Isaiah 40:28 WalkingTalkingBible |
