NASB | Romans 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 8:13 for if you are living according to the [impulses of the] flesh, you are going to die. But if [you are living] by the [power of the Holy] Spirit you are habitually putting to death the sinful deeds of the body, you will [really] live forever. |
Subject: filled with holy spirit? |
Bible Note: Hank, I don't know what you have against me, but Acts 2:4 says that they spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. No, you won't find "initial sign" in the Bible when refering to tongues, but that's why it is important to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ghost - same Being), He will teach you all things. Read in Acts, where others were being filled with the Holy Ghost, the believers didn't know the others had been filled with the Holy Ghost until they heard them speak in tongues. Have you ever felt the presence of God? What will you call it? It seems that if I use "experience" I'm wrong. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is when He baptizes all believers into the body of Christ. The indwelling, or filling, of the Holy Ghost is when the believer is empowered to be witnesses unto God, to live the Holy life God calls for, and to continue in the faith until Jesus returns. You judge me by saying that I rely on my own feelings. But since I know God and not of Him, I can truthfully say that His presence is beautiful. I have a personal relationship with Him and not a theological one. WalkingTalkingBible |
