Subject: The Suffering of the Church |
Bible Note: God's day to you, Mike, You are wrong not ALL suffering is evil and Satanic. All I need to do is to give you one verse ... "For to you it has been granted for Christ's sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake" (Php 1:29). But there are more ... "But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer" (2Co 1:6) Suffering and being honored is part of showing unity in the church (1Co 12:26). Paul was shown how much he must suffer for Christ's name's sake (Act 9:16). Romans 8:17 says "and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him." There are more, but I'll close with this thought Are you a soldier of the cross, Must you be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease, while others fought to win the prize, and sailed through bloody seas? "Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus" (2Ti 2:3). Searcher |
