Subject: Is this about water baptism at all? |
Bible Note: Greetings Dan! The only problem with your presentation is that Biblical patterns are not the same as Biblical commands. :-) There simply isn't any verse anywhere in the Bible which commands us to baptized within a certain timeframe. I would agree that it should be as quickly as possible, but it is not a violation of a command if one waits for awhile. In my case, I accepted Christ when I was six years old, but I was not from a Christian family. Therefore, I was never really taught anything about baptism until I was a teenager. As soon as I 'understood' baptism, I asked to be baptized. In the case of my two middle children, they accepted Christ when they were quite young. We waited until this year to have them baptized because I wanted them to understand what it meant. But, I have also baptized people immediately as well. I was involved with one young man who accepted Christ during the winter and wanted to be baptized right away. So, we went to a local home with a swimming poos and broke the ice and baptized the young man! Brr!!! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
