Subject: When does the Baptism occur? |
Bible Note: Hi Makarios, I, too, believe that the living water is the holy spirit. But we get this blessing from the Holy Spirit and as a gift from the glorified Jesus. If any man is thirsty, if any man believes, if any man will "come to Me and drink", then he will receive rivers of living water from God. And the person will hear the word and know that He is indeed the Prophet. Here are margin references from my study bible. Isa 44:3, "For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit [margin,or, spirit] on your offspring, And My blessing on your descendents; and they will spring up among the grass Like poplars by streams of water." Isaiah 55:1, "Ho, everyone who thirst, come to the waters;...Listen carefully to Me,...incline your ear and come to Me..." Isaiah 58:11, "And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places,..." Isaiah 49:10, "They will not hunger or thirst, Neither will the scorching heat or sun strike them down; For He who has compassion on them will lead them, And will guide them to springs of water." Revelation 7:17, "...for the Lamb in the center of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall guide them to springs of the water of life;..." John 19:34, "...but one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came out blood and water." I think that the water comes from our Rock and not from ourselves. I think that the Spirit gives us the words to speak for they do not come from us. Ephesians 1:17, "...that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him." From the heart, Ray |
