Subject: When does the Baptism occur? |
Bible Note: Hello blessed, speaking of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, I see it pretty much the same way that you do. I would like to add some verses that might through some light on the issue. When John the Baptist was speaking about Jesus in Mathew 3:11 Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: John was speaking to a crowed that contained both believers and unbelievers. They were all going to be baptized by Christ, by one or the other with the Holy Spirit or fire. i.e. Those that receive Christ as their own personal Savior and those that don't will receive Christ's baptism of fire. Rev. 20:12-15 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Is this any help, CDBJ |
