Bible Note: Hi Mitch, Rom 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Rom 8:19 For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. Rom 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope Rom 8:21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Rom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. Rom 8:23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. In this passage, Paul speaks of the "slavery to corruption" that creation has been subjected to. Includes us, specifically our bodies, as part of the creation that is waiting for redemption. So the "natural world", including our bodies, continues to be subjected to "slavery to corruption". To put this more simply, the natural world, including our bodies, even though we are spiritually redeemed, have not been physically redeemed, and are still slaves of corruption. (I hope I am making this more clear) My question is this: What do you think this corruption is? Our bodies are enslaved to corruption. What is the corruption that enslaves our bodies? Is this better?
