Bible Note: Hello ngkh, I appreciate your reply:-) I have no problem with you brother/sister. My challenge is with the WOF movement as a whole- Kenneth Hagin being the grandaddy of it. His theology is not Orthodox nor biblical and yes, it's roots are in mysticism (Edward Cayce). Simply because one quotes scripture proves not the soundness of their doctrine. Proof-texting is easily done, usually aside from any CONTEXT! There is little if any expositional/expository teaching in this camp. (Compare him to Gill, Edwards or Spurgeon) When Christ is preeminent (Col. 1:18), He, His person and completed works are the focus. Paul preached Christ (1 Cor. 2:2, 2 Cor. 4:5). The focus on miracles, healings, etc. is NOT preaching Christ. Christ alone is our sufficiency and it is Him alone we need! (Eph. 1:3) I'm aware of and in agreement with 1 Cor. 2:18-23?! I'll leave it said at that. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
