Bible Question:
Thanx Mark, I see what you are saying and it makes sense.Let me approach the subject from aanother angle then. Mind you,I'm not disagreeing with you I'm just trying to gain a clearer perspective and a better understanding of all of this. Might we be speaking of how Gods spirit works and contiually manifests himself in our daily lives?I think that at times this is where the christiam community as a whole is at it's weakest and where we have the least amount of understanding. This has been a bone of contention among believers more times than I can remember. This is a real power source for Gods people but it seams like we keep comming up a little bit short where this area of our walk with God is concerned. God bless you, lionheart |
Bible Answer: Hi Lionheart, Yes, I think that is what this is all about, the daily work of the Holy Spirit in and through our lives. If we were to simply submit to God, and allow Him to use us however He wants to, He will empower us to perform any work He sets us to do. Whether that is by an all inclusive empowerment when we are saved, or a step by step empowerment as we serve, I really don't care, except that I want to know how the Bible speaks of it, which seems to be, as we've been discussing, as a filling of the Spirit when we are reborn, a more massive empowerment which we call baptism of the Spirit, a continual filling of the Spirit, and specific fillings, or empowerments, for specific purposes. Personally, I think that as we serve, God teaches us those things we are to know, but the most important thing is that we serve. Above all, love. God bless you my brother! Love in Christ, Mark |
