Bible Question:
Kathy, - Where does the Bible mention "lifting His Name" ... - Why do you say "Lord I lift Your Name on High" ... what is the Biblical source? John 12:32-33 is about His being lifted up on the cross. John 3:14 is a cross reference and it mentions Moses (Num 21:4-9), where those who looked at the bronze snake up on the pole lived (vv 8-9). None of these references mention anything about lifting His name or any name. So where do you see lifting His Name being Biblical? Searcher |
Bible Answer: If you would look at Luke 17:13 this was the ten lepers they lifted up their voice to summons Jesus, they wanted him to have mercy on them, and He did . they were all cleansed. if we can lift up our voices to summons Jesus when we want something, why not lift his name to declare his doings . Jesus said if we didn't praise him that he would cause rocks to cry out to him. any way how can we praise some one if we don't lift up our voices. and when we tell of his goodness and sing of his goodness, we can't help but lift his name. all it is, is praising God for his goodness. His mercy and His grace the continues to follow us daily.PRAISE HIM HE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED. |
