Bible Question:
Scripture ... Psa 63:4, Joh 12:31-36 ... Has anyone else heard someone quote John 12:32, then say something about us lifting His name? Out music minister does, and I have others do so. But, I do not see even an indirect correlation. Psalm 63:4 comes close ... but, I do not even know where we are told to lift His name. Any ideas? |
Bible Answer: John 12:32 is to be understood in context. What did Jesus mean when he said, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me"? The Spirit of God led John to give the answer in the next verse (John 12:33). This he said, signifying what death he should die. By saying this, he indicated how he was going to die. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. |
