Subject: ever neccessary/permissable to deceit? |
Bible Note: Tim, Thank you for your input. Many have used ... the examples in Scripture to justify their actions, but we don't know the whole situation, and I do not believe God rewarded their deceit or any sin. ... others, like Brother Andrew (the ends justified the means). I think of heroes, like Polycarp. Some were told they just had to go through the motions and not mean it when they said Cesaer is lord. They chose death. Could we. I fear since we Westerners have it easy and our culture teached situation ethics ... so we may do something that God does not approve. This thought just in ... Jesus said for us to hate our family (Luke 14:26), so the excuse of lying (a sin) so that an innocent lives, is not a valid excuse.
