Subject: Treasure? |
Bible Note: Greetings Rowdy! According to your post you have identified our treasure as "God's Home" or eternal life with Him. But does God's Word say that we are the beneficiaries of that (God's Home, Heaven, eternal life with God) as a result of faithful service and obedience? Please clarify this. My thinking on this passage is this: God treasures people. When we invest in things that contribute to the salvation of the souls of the lost, we become participants in the expansion of the Kingdom of God. This is how, it is my opinion, that we are "storing up treasures" in heaven. The crown of life that you referenced in Rev 2:10 is what we receive as a result of our faith in the finished work of Christ - we can not earn it by faithful service and obedience. It is waiting in heaven for us.(Acts 26:18; 1 Peter 1:4) Blessings to you! mommapbs |
