Bible Note: Brian, Yes, the maturation process that we go through is called sanctification. But we must always be aware that it is God in us who does the sanctifying and it is not we that sanctify ourselves. Of course God does not operate in a vacumn, but employs means by which He molds and shapes us into the the likeness of Christ. Prayer, obediance, self-examination, study of Scripture etc. are some of those means. He alsochanges us through trials and tribulations. The most important thing for me to remember is that: "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
