Bible Note: Wayne Various translations as written require various levels of understanding. Some are written in such a manner that it requires a 12th grade education, others can easily be understood by any 6th grader and still others written for a young child's understanding. Again I'm not a translator and I'm not pretending to be. However I would think a translator would first want to understand the meaning of the original and then work to insure that, that meaning gets passed along to his target group. Your question of how do I interpret such and such passage mystifies me. Without an understanding of the responder’s educational level, environmental factors, their background and present sociological position any answer supplied could present vast and varied pictures that could be very true or very false. I think the translation principals used to translate God’s Word Bible by World publishing were most excellent as I understood them . My understanding is they used an established method developed by the Nations Bible Society to translate Bibles into foreign languages and applied those same standards to the produce an English Bible. I find that Bible very easy to read and produces a very clear understanding of most passages. Again while I’m not a translator I believe the process was to first understand the original and then reproduce that understanding to a target group that had basic English understanding (read young child and older).
