Bible Note: Hello Again Mbooker, The signs and wonders that Jesus and the apostles performed were a sign to all men of the authority that God had given Him. After His ascension into heaven and the giving of the Holy Spirit on the day of pentecost, these miracles were manifested through His apostles and some others to demonstrate the authority that they had recieved from Him. From the time of the first century church until the present day, we have no record of miracles occuring in such a widespread manner as they did then. I do believe that througout the ages God has done miraculous works through His people, but it is not the norm. You say if you have the faith you will be healed. All believers are given faith as a gift from God. 1 Cor 4:7 "For who regards you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it? Therefore, it is not a lack of faith that prevents a sick person from being healed. Many times God's plan does not correspond with our personal desires. Which is why He gave us...Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Brother John |
