Bible Note: Thanks. Your chair example helped me see where you are coming from and I agree with you. Just as I have faith that the chair will hold me, I have faith the my Father will heal me. And no, the chair doesn't hold me because I believe it will and no, my Father does not heal because I believe He will. The chair holds me because thats what it does. My Father heals me because that's what he does. And as you said with the chair, I must believe, then act on that trust and sit before I can benefit from what I believe (that the chair can hold me). Likewise, I must believe my Father will heal, act on that belief, then sit (or like Hebrews 4:11 says 'labor to enter into his rest') before I can benefit from what I believe. I've had been reading Hebrews not too long ago and chapters 3 and 4 talk about the dangers of unbelief and how 'they could not enter in because of unbelief'. Heb 4:2 even said that 'but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it'.
