AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ecclesiastes 6:10 ¶ Whatever exists has already been named [long ago], and it is known what [a frail being] man is; for he cannot dispute with Him who is mightier than he. |
Bible Question:
in NIV: Whatever exists has already been named, and what man is has been known; no man can contend with one who is stronger than he. in NLT: Everything has already been decided. It was known long ago what each person would be. So there’s no use arguing with God about your destiny. does this mean that God controls everything? Does he know what is going to happen and let it fall into place that way? Do we have any say in our own destiny? Can we change the future? what does this verse even tell us about the character of God? please do not answer if you are unsure. |
Bible Answer: I know in my heart that God knows whether or not you will accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but He does not choose your destination. He already knows but you choose either to believe or not to believe. 1 Timothy 2:3 says, This is good and pleases God our Savior who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. This scripture is saying that God loves you and wants you to be with Him and does not choose for anyone to be seperated from Him, He wants all to be saved, and Has even sent His son to die for our sins so that if we believe we will not perish but have everlasting life. |
