Subject: Is there middle ground? |
Bible Note: Hello brother charis! No, I do not believe in such a "rigid" definition of Christianity, where the "Arminians" are right and the other half is in gross error or the "Calvinists" are right and the other half is in gross error. I simply believe that there will be no reconciliation between the two (based upon that one single topic that divides the two camps- the Blood of Christ) until Jesus comes back and straightens it all out once and for all by Himself! So my answer is: No. There can be no reconciliation, no "middle" ground between Arminianism and Calvinism. I did NOT say that a Christian must choose to be either one. :) You are not required to take sides in this issue! In fact, you are probably "better off" if you don't take a side, which is what you were trying to say. However, if you do end up picking one- Arminianism or Calvinism, then it seems that there will always be a "difference in thought" between yourself and a certain group of other Christians who happen to see somewhat differently than you do. And there is no reconciliation, no "middle ground" for this rift- it can only be solved by Jesus Himself, since it is His redeeming power and His blood that we are talking about, not ours. :) Until then, we have work to do!
