Subject: Is there middle ground? |
Bible Note: Greetings Schwartzkm! Pretty good! :-) The following comments are meant for everyone discusing this thread: I have been thinking about the whole issue of middle ground. The way I see it (and I could be wrong), there are only four logical positions concerning salvation. 1) No one is saved, everyone is lost! 2) Some are saved, some are lost - by God's decree! 3) Some are saved, some are lost - by man's choice! (I really don't like this phrase, but I use it for the sake of contrast with number 2.) 4) Everyone is saved, no one is lost! Options 1 and 4 are clearly not Biblical. Options 2 and 3 are basically Calvinism and Arminianism. The real difference between these two options is simple. Option 2 says that God did not want to save everybody, so He only saved some! Option 3 says that God wanted to save everyone, but not everyone accepted the gift! If this is true, I have to agree with Lionstrong and Joe that there really can't be a middle ground. One is right and one is wrong! We may disagree on the forum as to which one is which, but can there really be any middle position? If there is, I would love to hear what it is?
