Bible Question (short): Thanks, what do you think about this? |
Question (full): Thanks, I much appreciate the scripture references. Based upon 1 Peter 3:18-20 it seems possible Jesus went to the center of the earth to announce His finished work on the cross to those who died anticipating His coming. One thing bothers me about that explanation, though. 1 Peter 3:19 and 20 says Jesus was preaching to spirits who DISOBEYED while Noah's ark was being built. That doesn't sound like people who died waiting for Christ to me. Also, if these verses represent ALL who died in faith prior to Christ's actual coming, why do they specifically speak only of those who disobeyed while the ark was being built? Something doesn't fit here or I'm missing something. Any comments? Chusarcik |
