Subject: Does God endorse polygamy? |
Bible Note: Hello Don Your entire line of argumentation is based on conjecture. You have stated that God allowed polygamy in the Mosaic Law. He also allowed divorce though it was never His desire. Allowance is not sanction. Your idea that Adam had more than one wife is based on silence. Hardly a proof. That's like proving my name is Steve Case because I haven't said otherwise in this posting. You say Israel and Judah being called wives. Indeed they were, but you'll have to provide the Scriptural references to see what context they were in (i.e. were the kingdoms divided at the time this was stated?) What does the argument for a garden or power come into this? Red herrings, both of them. Concerning the overseers of 1 Tim and Titus, cite your lexicons which give the best definition for these passages as "first." Every instance in the NT of a bride for Christ, it is singular. I suspect it's the same for the OT, but I must research that. Steve |
