Bible Note: It has taken me time to research. Slowly I add clues. One fact is that there are all sorts of business records that are dated by the various kings. Some kings have no records, and others have no records after a certain year despite our belief that he reigned more years. The length of the reigns of the kings mentioned in the Bible can be dated to the year, the month and sometimes the day, just by business records. The doubtful kings are said to have reigned after the Biblically recorded ones. There is a total of 77 years that are doubtful. The same time period in Egypt and Greece also has major problems with the dating. If about 27 years of the 77 years were added in, Daniels 69 weeks would go from the decree to Jesus much better. I am still studying the times. Even so, the end of the captivity until the decree in question is undated in the Bible and we still need to rely on outside sources. Even the dating of Jesus death still uses outside sources, but at least this is much better documented. |
