Bible Note: One has to be careful when analyzing a geneology. A variety of geneologies in the Bible get compressed. The geneology of David only lists three people for a fou hundred year period. The geneology of Jesus drops out known names. This was fine in the writers eyes. The term father could mean grandfather, great grandfather, etc. It was also used for other purposes. It was used for the master apprentice relationship as in Gen 4:19-21. Father was also used for the founders of a town or country. Thus it could mean what you said, or the flood could have happened hundreds of years earlier than it seems. each word is true, but our interpretations are not always accurate. Greentwiga |
