It seems it is easier for us to believe a mistake was made then believe God included a name that He left out elsewhere, for reason unknown to us. We tend to do this in many ways, when something doesn't reconcile to our liking, whether if be a case like this or something that offends our sense of justice or fair play we apply human explanations to it. Such as this is scribal error, or that only pertains to that society, or that was only for "that" church. Your right, when we start down that slope we find it to be indeed very slippery. EdB |
