Bible Note: New Creature I agree wholeheartedly with Greentwiga, we have to be very careful with genealogy and dating in the Bible. We know generations are skipped and like Greentwiga said the word for father could also be applied to grandfather is great grandfather. I went to the Reese Chronological Bible and looked up some dates. According to Reese Abraham was born in 1967 BC and Shem died in 1817BC, Isaac was born in 1867 when Abraham was 100. Issaac and Rebecca didn’t marry until 1830 BC. Esau and Jacob were born in 1807 BC or 10 years after the death of Shem. Remember in BC the dates count backwards from zero. EdB |
