NASB | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:26 ¶ Then God said, "Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth." Bible Note: Greetings Zerotheory! Sorry about the double post! My connection froze up and I resent the material. :-) One further question if I may! If you believe that Jesus (Col. 1:16) created all things, then why do you not accept the 'us' of Gen. 1:26? You said in one of your previous posts that there was a problem with the chronology. Yet, Col. 1:16 and John 1:1-4 make it perfectly clear that Jesus was in existence prior to the creation of all things, since He created them. It seems that the only problem with the chronology occurs if you try to force Scripture to say that Jesus came into existence at some point, rather than being eternally existent as the 2nd Person of the Trinity.
