81 | Question re: Job | Job | glory777 | 72517
boowig- In the Old Testament, as now, everything that happened was ordained or allowed by God. They knew who was in charge. We know that Satan is the source of evil, but God gives choice. God also knows what is happening and what the future is and every second that will happen in our lives. So, in a sense they were correct in stating that trouble came from God, and although Job went through the test, with God's knowledge, God also knew how the test would come out - which is something that Satan still does not realize! 82 | how did God use davids sins of adultery | Psalm | glory777 | 22468
gloria177- This may not be the answer you are looking for, but I think, if nothing else, when he realized his sins, he wrote out his heart that we can identify with a loving God who can forgive anything. Here David is, the apple of God's eye, sinning against one of the 10 commandments, the one who trusted in God since a youth to deliver him, now wavering in his trust in the Lord only. Yet He shows us how God is always faithful and how we should remain faithful and always love and praise Him. Sometimes we cannot see how God works through circumstances immediately, but His work can be seen and circumstances can be used even thousands of years later. Blessings to you- Debbie |

83 | dose it say we can fly other planets | Ps 8:3 | glory777 | 20477
Hi Jessie- I don't know of any place where it says, literally , we can fly to other planets. David was meditating on God through the means of looking at His creation. All of these things were made through the awesome power of God and we know the creation is so much less than the Creator. Adam originally was given dominion over it all until he gave it away through sin. The verses 5 through 8 are referring to Jesus (Heb. 2:6). So by considering (meditating) an all creation, seeing God's power and His goodness to us, we will come to greater love and awe of Him. Blessings- Debbie |

84 | What is this verse meant to be? | Ps 139:7 | glory777 | 16954
Delaro- This is just a fact of God's omnipresence. He is everywhere. You can't go anywhere where He isn't beside you. You can't run away from Him and you can't hide from Him and He is always there when you need Him and want His closeness. What a comfort. Blessings- Debbie |

85 | Are We to Hate His (Our) Enemies? | Ps 139:22 | glory777 | 11002
Steve- I think it has something to do with the time frame. Prior to Jesus, there were laws to live by, and I think that keeping the law was what was important. Now, the emphasis is on the heart. Not only do you not murder, but you do not hate or think about it. The Mosaic law was impossible to keep, the New Law is even more impossible, except for the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit. Deb |

86 | Proverbs 30 meaning? | Proverbs | glory777 | 59508
According to the notes in the Spirit filled life Bible, Agur's identity is unknown as is the author of Prov. 31. The verses with three...four is a rhetorical means of indicating that the lists are not intended to be exhaustive of their respective subjects. In other words, just a poetic form of giving examples that could go on and on. Peace in Jesus- Debbie |

87 | state law vs bilical decipline | Prov 22:6 | glory777 | 14797
Proverbs tell us to "Train up a child in the way he should go". Scripture also teaches us not to exasperate our children. There are many more scripture dealing with the raising of children, and I think if you follow the true biblical teachings, you will not get into the area of abuse. Punishment is to be used in relation to the the deed, but never done in anger. The age of the child has to be taken into account, also. James Dobson has written some very good books on the rearing of children. I would advise reading some of these. Debbie |

90 | Why should we have what He borne? | Is 53:4 | glory777 | 32332
just- We still live in a fallen world. There is still sickness, pain and death, but not spiritually. When we have sickness, we know that our Lord has also experienced it for us and we are not holding it ourselves, but the Lord has carried it for us. In all things, we know the Lord is there with us, that we will come out stronger because He loves us. If we stand on this, He is free to do healings in our lives, ease sorrows and give comfort. What do we have without HIm and the knowledge that He has borne everything and more than we are ever asked to bear? I recently went to a funeral of a man who deeply loved and served the Lord. There was a spirit of joy that you will not find in an unbelievers funeral for the family knew he was in the presence of the Lord and they KNEW they would see him one day. There were still tears, for he will be missed, but there was joy in the Lord and faith in His promises. I hope this helps. Debbie |

91 | what does this text mean | Is 55:8 | glory777 | 7959
Isn't that just awesome? All the way down through verse 12. Who can think like the Lord? We don't have an inkling. Our God is so high above us, it is as though we are little babies listening and watching our parents do to what us are impossible and totaly nonunderstandable things. He has given us information about Him in His word, He has shown Himself physically as Jesus, but who has seen the total majesty and who can ever figure Him out? And yet, what He has given us is as much as we need, as much as He knows we can handle, although not as much as we may desire. Someday....
92 | Great is Your faithfulness? | Lamentations | glory777 | 10875
Nolan- I think because Jeremiah could see the long picture. He could see how every time Israel turned to God, He was faithful but they kept turning away. The one part of the Bible that really touches my heart is Matt.23:37 where Jesus is lamenting over Jerusalem -"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing." But He was always faithful then, and He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, Glory to His Name. Debbie |

93 | Anti Christ? Is America Babylon or Iraq? | Daniel | glory777 | 47107
1.According to Tim Lahaye's book "Revelation Unveiled", the antichrist will be Gentile of the Mediterranean area and part Greek (Rev. 13:1; Daniel 8:8-9). He will be predominantly Roman (Daniel 9:26)and Daniel 11:36-37 speaks of him that he regards not the "God of his fathers". So he will have a Jewish background. This is speculation and I would not stake my life on it. No one knows for sure - only God. 2. Babylon was in Iraq. I think I read somewhere that Iraq is trying to rebuild it. Don't quote me on that one. Keep looking up! Debbie |

96 | What kind of whale swallowed Jonah? | Jonah | glory777 | 10867
Ok, Nolan, Getting serious. There could have been what scientist would call prehistoric fishes of such huge dimensions like we don't have today. Job 41:1 and Psalm 104:26 both speak of Leviathan. There would have been a lack of oxygen but If God could have provided a fish right at that time, He could have made provision for Jonah to survive. I wish I could remember where I heard it, but on TV not too long ago, I heard about a man who had been swallowed by, I think it was a sperm whale. It was killed shortly thereafter and the man was still alive, although badly burned by the gastric juices and blind. (He probably didn't have too many people who enjoyed breathing around him for a while either. I can't help it - your comments to my "big one" still has me laughing!). If this could happen now without God's orchestrating it for scripture, I know he could do it then. So I believe it was a sea dwelling dinosaur. Your sister- Deb |

97 | What does 'stagnant in spirit' mean? | Zephaniah | glory777 | 10839
Lord, keep us from being complacent! They were at a standstill, there was no spiritual growth, no searching for the Lord. They were happily going about business as usual. I think about a stagnant pond. Algae growing, mosquitos swarming, oozing and mucky. No growth, no new life and foul things beginning to creep in. Decay. Without seeking, studying, staying excited about the Lord, fellowshiping with other believers and worshipping (even though there may be seasons of silence)keeps your spirit alive and thriving. 99 | Did His star disappear for awhile? | Matt 2:2 | glory777 | 27527
Steve- I think it is true that what they first saw was an actual starw signifying the birth of Christ - a new star in the position in the sky that identified royalty born in the Hebrew house. After that, I am sure they had access to the scrolls so knew of the prophesy (weren't the Jews scattered throught the known world at that time?). As far as being led, can any one tell the exact spot a star in the sky is over? I think it must have been either an angel leading them as God sent the fire and cloud to lead the people out of Egypt, or some other phenomenon that God sent to lead them to the Savior. This would also explain why no one else saw the star after they first did. And maybe they were the only ones knowledgeable at that time to notice it in the first place. Amazing how God will show things to people who watch. God bless! Debbie |

100 | day of worship ?????/ saturday sabbath | Matt 5:17 | glory777 | 18948
huckle7berry God's nature does not change. However, when Christ came, He fulfilled all the law for us. We do not have to do the dietary thing and worry about being around things that are "unclean". He did it for us. But the only commandment not reapeated is the one about Saturday being the day of rest and worship. Sunday became the day of worship after Jesus was resurrected for various reasons. He was resurrected and appeared to some of His followers on the 1st day of the week. He continued appearing on succeeding Sundays. The Holy Spirit took place on a Sunday so the pattern was formed. Sunday's were known as the Lord's Day (Rev. 1:10). And whether we decide to worship on a Sunday or Saturday is really irrelevant, as long as we have one day of the week to give to the Lord and meet with other believers (Col. 2:16) and Sunday seems to be the favored day for most believers to meet and worship together.
