41 | Dinosaurs | OT general | glory777 | 14952
Elijah- Dinosaurs could be walking the earth today. There are remote parts of the jungle in the Congo where sighting of dinosaur like creatures have been sighted, according to the Revised and Expanded Answers book. There are many legends of dragons in midieval history and in Chinese folklore. These could very well have been dinosaurs. For maore information, go to www.ICR.org. I think they may have some more answers for you. Debbie |

42 | violence in old testament ,justify | OT general | glory777 | 42706
chickoo- It is justifiable in order to keep the Jewish nation alive. Look at the world today. There is still every effort made to destroy the Jewish people as there has been throughout history. God wanted His people preserved, untainted. Throughout the bible you can see how living with other nations often caused them to intermarry, to adopt other customs and to begin worshipping false idols. There is a reason for everything God does, even if we do not see it now. Debbie |

45 | What do the wings symbolize in dan 7:6 | NT general Archive 1 | glory777 | 20414
i don't have a clue- How do you know that the wings of the lion symbolize the USA? I have read that the images given to Daniel in chapter 7 showed the same chain of events as in the second chapter. The lion symbolized Nebuchadnezzar - the removal of his wings was when God brought him down because of his pride. (A winged lion was also the national symbol of Babylon). The lopsided bear symbolized the Medo-Persian empire and the leopard represented Greece. I'm not sure what the symbolism is for the wings, other than, knowing the wings in the first image were removed to cause debasement so I am guessing they may symbolize the feelings of the Greece dominance that they were invincible. 46 | Luke 23:24 is this request granted? | NT general Archive 1 | glory777 | 70626
Johnny- This is a hard question. inmyheart gave some good scripture verses about it. I am thinking, though, that the reason Judas was not forgiven (if he was not forgiven) is because, although he repented of killing - indirectly- an innocent man, he did not acknowledge that Jesus was the Son of God. I think that maybe, if those who took part in the crucifixion realized who it was that they killed, repented of their actions and believed in Him, that they were saved. The man who guarded the Cross acknowledged it. I wrote a short story about this subject, seen from the eyes of a man who could have taken part in it and it is posted at Christian interactive. Just my thoughts. One of those questions that I don't think we will know for sure until we are there. Debbie |

47 | Sketch/profile on Joseph (Jacob's son)? | Genesis | glory777 | 7209
I read an excellent book by Chuck Swindoll titled "Joseph". It gives a lot of insight and is not a hard read. I think you would enjoy it.
48 | What was the mark on Cain put by God? | Genesis | glory777 | 18782
Greetings lbaley- No one knows what the mark was, but God put the mark there to protect him (Gen.4:14). What a loving God we have, that He would do that for even someone who was a murderer! God's blessings, Debbie |

49 | Your best argument against evolution? | Genesis | glory777 | 59742
Vannessa- Go to www.icr.org. It is the institute for creation research. If they don't have the answer there, it wasn't asked! First, though, you have to know what the opposition has for an argument for evolution. It takes a greater leap of faith to believe that out of nothing can come a giant explosion to form something. And then, by chance, certain protiens, etc. come together and mingle just right with other stuff to start life. Anyway, they have the answers to questions that could be asked and counters to anything anyone could come up with to be pro-evolution. STAND STRONG, GIRL! Debbie |

50 | Chronology of creation? | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 9234
In the chronological history in chapter 1 it is plants, animals, man. Plants were created for animals and man to eat - no pain, death, fear were in the earth at that time. Everything at that time was "good", but it was not until Adam was created that it was "very good". I also just read, or heard, that when Adam saw all the animals and realized that they were male and female (all had an opposite sex) that he realized that none of them would be an appropreate helpmate for him. I think it was Greg Laurie (www.harvest.org) that said Adam probably didn't think a hippo would be a suitable counterpart :) . Debbie |

51 | how can you fight evolution? | Gen 1:1 | glory777 | 11234
I have recomended this site also. I believe it also has a place where you can give them your name and address and you will get monthly newsletters about what ICR is finding out about new proofs to discredit the THEORY of evolution. Remember, it was always called "theory" and still has no positive proof to back it up. However, the Bible is being shown to be historically accurate. Isn't God awesome? His wonders never cease - looking at the animal world is enough to make us see the incredible imagination our God has. Debbie |

53 | Where is the Loving God???? | Gen 1:26 | glory777 | 59510
inheavenseyes- Yes, God is a God of Love. He loved us so much that He will not force us to love Him and He gave us free will. It was man's choice that allowed evil to come into this world and it is our choice to believe that Jesus died for our sins. It is our choice to rest on the promises He gives us (I will never leave you nor forsake you ...my peace I give to you, etc.). We also don't know the eventual outcome of many of the tragedies, but I do know that God can take the worst situations and cause them to work for His good and His plans. Look at the Columbine shootings. I understand because of the faith of the one girl, so many were brought to salvation. In areas where persecution is highest, faith in Christ is growing by leaps and bounds. Those who are believers are tried and made stronger by bad situations - it is a time to rely more on God. I also believe hard times happen so the Lord gives us opportunities to grow in faith so we can be there to help others who are going through similar situations. Hope this helps, some. Sometimes, what it takes is not so much "Words of Wisdom" but a shoulder to lean and cry on. Love in Christ- Debbie |

54 | Are Enoch and Elijah The Two Witnesses? | Gen 5:24 | glory777 | 11261
Steve- In Joshua 1:1 it state "After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord...". I personally think that the two witnesses are going to be Enoch and Elijah. They are the only 2 in scripture that haven't had a physical death. However, another train of thought puts the witnesses as being Elijah and Moses as representing the Law and Prophets. Take your pick. But I put more credence on Enoch because of Heb. 9:27. |

55 | What Happened To Enoch? | Gen 5:24 | glory777 | 11494
I know I am terribly outnumbered here, and I think you are probably right about Moses and Elijah. But I sure would like for it to be Enoch. I guess because I would love to have my name be the "Woman who walked with God". Can't wait to see him. Stubbornly, Debbie |

56 | who are the sons of god and how can one | Gen 6:4 | glory777 | 16986
calbabs- This is a verse that has some controversy. I believe it to mean, men from the line of Seth, holy men. Very easy to become a son of God. Repent of your sins, acknowledge that Jesus died on the cross for you, believe that He is God and ask Him to be lord of your life. Debbie |

57 | Who was the first drunk in the Bible? | Gen 9:21 | glory777 | 61828
The first mentioned was Noah but Lot also got drunk - more than once and look what happened. Although it does not tell of the affect on the person doing the drinking, it has major consequences for those observing and close to him, affecting generations after. A word of caution to anyone! :) Debbie |

59 | Exodus 12:29-30 | Exodus | glory777 | 7858
This is just something to mull over, and I hope someone has a concrete answer, but I know God asks us to give to him the "first fruits" of our labor, money, all that we are. The first born (males in particular) were always considered as special, consecrated to the Lord if you were Jewish, sacrificed to other gods in heathen cultures. This was the last and the severest way God could try to get Pharoah's attention and also showed His people the strength of Jehovah and how much He loved His people.
60 | Was Moses and Aaron's request reasonable | Exodus | glory777 | 18954
ronscarpet- I think there might have been some duplicity in the request. First, if they were away under the pretext of holding a festival, it would have bought them some time. Secondly, Egypt had different gods that were worshipped and the way they were worshipped were vastly different then the way the Jews worshipped the Lord. Pharoah was considered a god to the Egyptians and to worship Jehovah would have been an affront to the Egyptians. This is just conjecture and I may be wrong, but it could be possible. I do know that the Egyptians didn't think much of sheep (Joseph told his brothers to tell Pharoah that they were cattlemen, remember?) and to see sheep being sacrificed could have caused some problems, even having sheep in the area of the Egyptians could have caused difficulties.
