301 | can a believer lose his salvation? | 1 Cor 5:5 | skccab | 186301
Greetings, I don't believe you can lose your salvation if you're a believer. The only place that gives a sin unto death is not something that would be committed by a believer. Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. Mat 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. I believe you can lose your reward. As Paul stated: 1Co 5:5 To deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. If you're a true born-again believer, you don't need to worry about it anyway - you're covered with the blood of Jesus. Blessings Cheri |

302 | how do i handle fear | NT general Archive 1 | skccab | 186216
Hi Fleminghrs I know this may sound overly simplified, and it isn't, not really. The Word says that we are to change our way of thinking: Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. In our walk in this world, life is full of fears - but John says 1Jn 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1Jn 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? And Paul wrote: Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. and 2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. And my very favorite when fear tries to seep into my thinking and get my eyes on the world and off my Lord: 1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Hope these Scriptures help you Blessings Cheri |

303 | Illustration of this verse | Luke 23:46 | skccab | 186161
Hi Ngqabe, Jesus was trusting His human spirit into the keeping of the Father, as he was assured that He would soon be reunited with the Father (see Ps. 31:5). The Amplified Version uses the word "expired." That's just simply another term for "died." Hope this helps. Blessings Cheri |

Dear freedom, You posted before on the 1st of the month, pretty much the same thing. We are very sorry to hear of your troubles. Please help us to relate, where are you from? where did this take place, under what circumstances? And then what is the actual question in all that? Someone would be more than happy to try to answer, to help you understand. Blessings Cheri |

305 | The theme is unleashed waters to swin in | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186137
Mrodri, Where do you get the term "unleashed waters to swim in", from which translation? I use the Amplified, NASB, and KJV mainly, and the words used are "torrent" "risen waters" "river too deep," so that you cannot wade in it, you must totally immerse yourself and swim in it. I believe it represents the Gospel and the Holy Spirit. First a small trickle in Asia Minor then it gets deeper and deeper and deeper as it moves throughout the earth. As a new believer, you hear but a trickle of the Gospel, you believe it and immerse yourself in it, and thru the Holy Spirit you move deeper and deeper into the revelations of God's mercy and grace and love. Maybe that's what is "unleashed"? As we as believers move from milk to the meat of the Word, from grace to grace, from faith to faith? If I'm way off here, please forgive, and correct. 306 | what does the verse mean? | Ezek 47:5 | skccab | 186135
Hi Mrodri, Maybe it's the large spread of the Gospel and the pouring out of the Spirit as promised in Joel. A river that you can't go over, nor under, not even through it, you have to go "into" it, become a part of it. I'm just beginning to put the Word back into my life first place, so that's just a thought. There are some members of this forum, who, I'm sure will add much insight soon. |

307 | principles related to said passage | Is 42:1 | skccab | 186125
Hi Tonyl, Isa. 42:1 promises the coming of Christ verse 2 says He will come quietly, not crying in the streets "look at Me", or making a show of Himself verse 3 says He will deal gently and full of grace toward those that come to Him. Those candles (people) whose wicks are dimming He will revive and rekindle and verse 4 states that countries outside of Judea will gladly accept Him. Hope this helped Blessings Cheri |

308 | Receiving Communion if not married | 1 Cor 11:24 | skccab | 186098
1Co 11:24 - Had given thanks, Eucharistesas. Hence in post-apostolic and patristic writers, Eucharist was the technical term for the Lord's Supper as a sacrifice of thanksgiving for all the gifts of God, especially for the “unspeakable gift,” Jesus Christ. By some of the fathers of the second century the term was sometimes applied to the consecrated elements. The formula of thanksgiving cited in “The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles” is, for the cup first, 'We give thanks to Thee, our Father, for the holy vine of David Thy servant, which Thou hast made known to us through Jesus, Thy servant: to Thee be the glory forever.” And for the bread: “We give thanks to Thee, our Father, for the life and knowledge which Thou hast made known to us through Jesus Thy servant: to Thee be the glory forever. As this broken bread was scattered upon the mountains and, gathered together, became one, so let Thy Church be gathered together from the ends of the earth into Thy Kingdom, for Thine is the glory and the power through Jesus Christ forever.” Brake Bengel says: “The very mention of the breaking involves distribution and refutes the Corinthian plan - every man his own” 1Co.11:21. Do, Be doing or continue doing. In remembrance Strictly, for or with a view to, denoting purpose. These words do not occur in Matthew and Mark. Paul's account agrees with Luke's. Remembrance implies Christ's bodily absence in the future. Marvin R. Vincent's Word Studies, Covenant Parsonage, NY, Oct. 30, 1886 I've read from other commentaries and I find nothing stated about having to be married in a church or outside of a church. This is a remembrance of Christ and His work done for us as individuals and as a people. And remember our God is a God of forgiveness, not condemnation. Hope this helps. (Also, as an apology - This quotation came as a part of a Bible softward program, not from the book proper and I don't have all the publishing info to properly identify.) |

310 | Did Jesus get the keys in person? | Eph 4:9 | skccab | 185481
Hi all, You might be thinking of Col 2:15. I also think that Jesus descended the depths and made the show openly before the saints of old waiting for Him in Paradise. Then He led captive those that had been held in Hades against their wills, and took them with Him to Heaven. As I understand it, more happened but that's not part of this thread. 311 | what church do i go to? Help!! | NT general Archive 1 | skccab | 185478
Hi Maricjess, I am also looking for a place to call home in the city where I've just moved. My criteria, too, is Word, Word, Word. What I am doing, is during the week visiting the churches in the area and asking for any literature they have that discusses what they corporately as a church profess and teach, what the vision for that particular church is - and then searching the Scriptures to see if the church is scripturally sound; then attend 1-2 services. I trust the Spirit of God to witness with my spirit when I find the place where I am supposed to be. I've made six moves before that required a change of churches due to distance and this approach seems to work just fine. You'll know when you are at home. And don't settle for anything less than the pastor and family God has planned for you. Love in Jesus Skccab |
