181 | Phrases in the bible are located? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 197315
Shalom jesus1km, I can help with some of these, someone else surely will be able to help with the rest. 1 - No weapon is in Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon formed against you shall prosper. And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness in from Me." Says the Lord. 2- mustard seed is from Matthew 17:20 So Yeshua said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you." 3 - if God be for you - I'm still looking for this one 4 - binding and loosing is in Matthew 16:19 and 18:18 "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." and "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on eareth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." 5 - I could not find about the devil being the author of confusion but I found this, just the opposite 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. 6 - enemy's produce can be found in Matthew 7:15-20 Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. Mat 7:16 By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but the corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Mat 7:20 Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 7 - hearing is from Romans 10:17 So belief cometh of hearing, and hearing by the word of Messiah. Hope this helps Still looking for the one :-) Cheri |

182 | mathew 10:11 | NT general | skccab | 197032
Shalom Kmo, At this time the disciples were sent to the lost sheep of Israel, to the Jews. A person who would be deemed worthy would have been a Torah-observant person; one who fulfilled the daily prayers, who gave alms and did good deeds, one who knew the scriptures, etc. Later, when thay were sent to the Gentiles, you can look at Cornelius from the Book of the Acts (Acts 10:1-4) to see a picture of a "worthy" Gentile household - one who did the commandments of God without knowing the commandments. 183 | talking to the dead evil! | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 197027
Shalom Silvercoins, This is not a collection of everything that is said in the Bible about mediums, but it should get you started :-) Lev 19:26 You shall not eat anything with the blood. You shall not divine, nor conjure spirits. \ Lev 19:31 You shall not turn to mediums, and you shall not seek to spirit-knowers to be defiled by them. I am Jehovah your God. Lev 20:6 And the soul that turns to mediums, and to spirit-knowers, to go lusting after them, I will even set My face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people. Deu 18:9 When you come to the land which Jehovah your God gives you, you shall not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations. Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, an observer of clouds, or a fortune-teller, or a witch, Deu 18:11 or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or one who calls to the dead. Deu 18:12 For all that do these things are an abomination to Jehovah. And because of these abominations Jehovah your God drives them out from before you Isa 8:19 And when they shall say to you, Seek to the mediums and to wizards who peep and mutter; should not a people seek to their God, than for the living to the dead? Isa 8:20 To the Law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this Word, it is because no light is in them. Mal 3:5 And I will come near you to judgment. And I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those who extort from the hired laborer's wages, and turning away the widow, and the orphan, the alien, and not fearing Me, says Jehovah of Hosts. Isa 19:3 And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it, and I will destroy its wisdom. And they shall seek to idols, and to the enchanters, and to the mediums, and to the future-tellers. Isa 19:4 And I will shut up Egypt into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts. Exo 7:11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers. And they, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts. Exo 7:12 For each man threw down his rod, and they became snakes. But Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. Eze 21:29 while they see false visions for you, while they divine a lie to you, to put you on the necks of the slain of the wicked whose day has come in the day of iniquity; it shall have an end. Zec 10:2 For the family idols speak iniquity, and the diviners have seen a lie and have told false dreams. They comfort in vain; therefore they wandered like a flock; they were troubled because there was no shepherd. Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 2Th 2:9 whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 1Sa 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idol-worship. Because you have rejected the Word of Jehovah, He has also rejected you from being king! Hope this helps. Cheri |

186 | first covenant between man and man in OT | Genesis | skccab | 196921

187 | first covenant between man and man in OT | Genesis | skccab | 196920
Shalom askalot, In Gen. 26:17-33, Isaac had a problem with Abimelech (someone else may know better if this is the same Abimelech that dealt with Abraham, I don't think it is) over some wells - due to a vision from God, peace was struck and a covenant cut. I think this is the first covenant between 2 men recorded. Hope this helps some. Cheri |

188 | missing pages? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 196883
Shalom Michael, Are the pages missing naturally or did they just fall out? I ask, because several months ago I had purchased a Bible that had a chapter of Jer. inserted in Isaiah and 2 chapters of Isaiah totally missing. The Bible was several months old by the time I noticed this (and I had markings in it too) but the store replaced it for me anyway. But if pages are missing due to wear and tear, I don't know. Maybe someone else can help with that. Cheri |

190 | When was the begining of the Gospel give | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 196765
Shalom Billw, Are you a child of God? Have you been adopted into the family of God? Then from the first letter of Genesis to the last letter of Revelation is for you. Abraham was a Gentile when God called him and cut a covenant with him. God's salvation by grace through faith has always been available to all mankind (to the Jew first and then to the Gentile). One of the greatest pictures we have of our Savior is found in the Gentile King Melchizedek. Cheri |

191 | Knowledge of why they are in torment? | Luke | skccab | 196493
Shalom Chuck, How are you? A very good question. Do you mind if I take a stab at it? Although it's purely speculative, and based on human logic. Luke 16:19-31 tells the story of a man in hell conscious of those in Paradise, even of a conversation taking place. Obviously, at that time the differences between the two locations could be seen, if both the wicked and the righteous were conscious, and the wicked man knew he had done badly and that his servant had lived righteously. If they were conscious of the differences at that time, then the same should hold true today. The passage you quoted to a degree speaks of a decision - so all have heard of the differences between heaven and hell, of fellowship with God and separation from Him, and all have made a decision one way or the other. Your question is does their memory remain, the memory of choices. I'm thinking "selective" memory at least remains. The reason I think that is because in Rev. we read that there will be no more sadness, no more tears or pain for those in heaven - and that would mean that memories of loved ones who didn't make it there are not remembered because that would cause pain. We know that God is just. And in the TaNaKH I can't recall a time that He didn't either warn before hand of punishment about to come or explain why it was about to happen (as in 1 Kings 13). I don't know of any specific passages that you're asking for (I would like to know if there are any also), but that's my 2cents worth, that - yes, they do remember why they are now in torment. God is not cruel, I don't think He would eternally punish without allowing knowledge of the why. Still learning :-) Cheri |

193 | JESUS WINS AN SO DO WE | NT general | skccab | 196457
Shalom Seer, Prior to Yeshua's ascension to the right-hand of the Father, the grave was where the dead went. The grave or Hades was divided into 2 compartments, one not so pleasant for the wicked and Paradise (also called Abraham's bosom) for the righteous (those who hoped for Messiah and followed God's commandments). When Yeshua said "It is Finished!" it was finished, He did not have to go into hell to get any keys, or authority or anything - ALL was already His. He did go into Paradise (he took the repentant thief with Him), there He preached the gospel to those hoping for Him; and you know the rest. Cheri |

194 | Sin to charge interest on a loan? | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 196450
Shalom pbp, I don't think there is anything in the Bible that says charging interest is a sin, but here are just a few passages that you might find helpful: Lev. 25:35-38 Prov. 19:17 Jas. 2:14-18 Isa. 59:6-8 If it is in the Bible (either yea or nay), I'm sure someone else on the Forum will know and respond. Meanwhile, I pray this helps a bit :-) Cheri |

195 | I can do all things Phill.4:13 | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 196440
Shalom Faridah, What brother John told you is very true indeed. I just wanted to offer a little something that helped me, if you don't mind my jumping in here. One thing I did to begin getting in the routine of more prayer time was I picked out a few gospel songs that really spoke to my heart and any time that I was able, I would just begin to sing those songs (alone in the bathtub, washing the dishes, walking down the street to do the daily food shopping, going thru the mail at the mailboxes, etc), and I believe that God honored those times because He was on my mind and in my heart during those times. It wasn't long before those few minutes increased into more minutes, and more and more. Even now, I still very often spend my "alone time" with Him just singing praise and worship songs to Him - and I still believe He enjoys our time together. (Everyone else tells me to keep my day-job, but Abba likes my singing!!) Cheri |

196 | Adam sent to cultivate the ground | Genesis | skccab | 196174
Shalom Taylorak, God had placed Adam and Eve in the garden with the command that all was good for them for food EXCEPT the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. They were not to eat of that tree. But disobedience and rebellion entered into their hearts and they choose their way instead of God's way - and death entered into the world. Gen 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might stretch out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"-- Gen 3:23 therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken. Gen 3:24 So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life. They died spiritually that very day - and to keep them from living forever in that condition , they were sent out of the Garden, away from the Tree of Life. Hope this helps Cheri |

199 | What is the key verse of 1 Peter 1? | 1 Peter | skccab | 195856
Shalom Sandris, 1 Peter 1:1 tells us that Peter wrote this letter to the "pilgrims of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. Others on the forum, more learned than me, may give you other verses, but for me the key verses would be 6-9 (I can't break it down to just one verse). Peter's letter is one of encouragement to the believers who were experiencing persecutions for the gospel's sake. He told them that the prophets of old inquired of the things they knew and (I'm sure) many had seen!! I hope this helps Cheri |

200 | what do almond blossoms look like | Bible general Archive 4 | skccab | 195852
Shalom Clineamy, Rather than someone try to explain with words what something looks like (that's difficult to do) - if you just google "almond blossoms" you can bring up several places that will give you a picture. I just did it and got pictures, of the trees, ripe, unripe, of the nuts, leaves, flowers, etc. Happy hunting Cheri |
