I have the Updated NASB Study Bible and the Foundation Updated NASB text Calf Skin Leather Bible. This Bible is hand crafted and smyth sewn by hand. For 150. dollars it is the nicest crafted Bible you can get. If you do find that the Updated NASB is or is not yet published could you let me know as well? Blessings to you, enjoy the Forum. |

182 | List of all intimate and romantic words | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 86460
nexgen: Welcome to the forum! I think if you were to elaborate more on what information you are seeking with a complete sentence more forum members could better respond to you. Right now this question is pretty non specfic as to where in Scripture you are wanting information. Perhaps no other book is as romantic as SONG OF SOLOMON, you might read that and see if that's what you were asking for. Blessings and peace. justme |

183 | romantic word listed in songs of solomon | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 86637
nexgen: Why? I am assuming you know you know how to read, by the fact you can use a keyboard. There are several words that mean little by them selves, but when put in a sentence together they represent very romantic and intimate expressions of a loving husband and wife. I think I have said enough to answer your question, however is would help to ask questions in a complete sentence, as you are a little hard to understand. Blessings justme |

184 | LBLA Study Bible vs NASB Bible | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 88730
y2k Knight: adding to what Steve told you, The Life Application study notes are now in the NASB updated version. The Study Bible and The Life Application bibles ar both of significanly valuable in having. The Study bible is mainly for deeper understanding the books by outline and the chapters and verses with really good background and historical information, I use it a lot. The Life Application is just what it implys. This study Bible helps you with examples and very good helps, suggests ways to use this verse your life today. I have this Life Application Boble in the NIV, and find I use it equally as much as the Study bible. Hope this helps and Blessings to you. Any questions? justme |

186 | What is the answer? 190pgs of unrelated? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 89240
D.Prestil: Welcome to the Forum! I believe your question was repeated twice, and I responded to it as such. Was I not correct? I am unsure what the "190pgs of unrelated" means. To answer your question. Adam was not begiled, but of free will chose to disobey God. Eve was intised, but none the less made a choice. Why satan chose to confront Eve first has many speculations, but perhaps it was planed by God's design. I suppose one could make many assumptions, and never know for sure, What are your thoughts? Why do you think satan confronted Eve first? justme |

Seeking the Truth: Welcome to the Forum! Your excitement is contagious, and I am pleased you asked such a excellent qquestion. You are not alone in your desire to know all you can and be assured it is accurate. The very best solution is to go to a Christian College and spend several semesters in Greek. The Greek New Testammmment is the most accurate there is. Now you have a choice of selecting an English translation, which is not qquite as perfect but the message is brought clearly, and I have yety to master all the ways Jesus taught us to be. There is a point that we can go over board and attempt to be so percice that we miss the meaning. Be noy so concerned that every dot and coma is exact but that we obey that which is clearly understood by all; that would be a major accomplishment for a lifetime. I encourage you to ask your pastor which Bible he uses and why. Go to the search engine you use and type in BIBLE PUBLISHERS. They look at each and see what interests you. Then go to a Christian Book store and look at them your self. My experience is when getting a Bible to get one that is leather bound, Not bonded leather it falls appart. Most genuine leather Bibles are good for a lifetime. The cost is about10 to 20 percent more but is well worth it, and will last so much longer. I personally favor the updated NASB and the NIV. Both are available in the Study Bible which is excellent for deep study, and the Life Application notes. I use them both and find them very helpful and easy to understand. The key to what ever Bible you choose is to USE it! Just sitting on the night stand by your bed does not assure that you will learn a thing. Therefor I would suggest a daily Bible devoational guide that not gives you a lession but a way to read the Bible in one year. I have used the Daily Bread from 1956 to now. There are many such materials, but find one and stay with a daily time of reading and prayer. That my friend will be a true test of your comitment to Christ as nothing else will. Blessings and hope this gets you on the road of maturing in Christ. justme |

188 | What are your views of once saved always | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 89974
Pillman: Welcome to the Forum! You ask a question that is brought up quite frequently, and not without some heat hot enough to cook hot dogs on! There are two groups on this subject that are positive they are right and the others are wrong. I belong to the groug that is right. Ha Ha. Either you believe you can't loose your salvation or that it is possible to loose your your salvation. Both sides have scripture backing their belief and position. Both sides are cemented in their view and can't see how the other side could be so blind. Bothe sided try endlessly to convert the other, at times bothe sides become testy, and sometimes get hurt feelings. That is a blow by blow discription of the way views are presented. Now for what I believe, you know the right way to believe. First I believe faith that falters had a flaw in it from the first. I do believe the Holy Spirit comes and seals us when we are genuinely born again. I do not believe a genuine born again believer can loose their salvation. John chapter 10 is a solid basis for this belief. If we can't take Jesus word for it I guess we can't believe much else then. As you can tell I an very bias on this subject. However I think this belief is essential because Hebrews chapter 6 says that if we were to loose our salvation it could not be gotten back. I hope this helps. Any thoughts? justme |

189 | life problem | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 89982
Brotherlynn:You do not say if the vancant church near by is going to be made up of church members that will leave the church where you now are. Should that be the case don't do it. Church splits only become a grave, like a rutt, but with both ends open. Are you trusting in the Lords direction? Your situation is not unique, and if you respect the Authority of Scripture which has placed this man as pastor, and you are under his authority. If you find this is not working respect His authoority as pastor and resign. Then wait on the Lords direction. Should you by step Scripture you will fail, and hurt many. This isyour time to show you are comitted to obeying Scripture over mans ways. Blessings. justme |

190 | Does Heb 6 support "always saved"? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 90009
Aspiring Overseer: You have worthy asperation, and a high calling. If you look at the context the whole direction is talking about those who have been enlightened and that the subject is bringing them back to repentance. Many have undergone great leeenghts to subject believers to believe this shows you can loose your salvation, which is not at all what tese verses mean. I mmmmaaaintain that faith that falters has a flaw in it from the first. What a cruel God we would to have us in connstant termoil wondering if we are saved now and lost tommrow. A solid base of studing Scripture is one was to become a deserner of the word. This is an important conor stone of doctrine, and I pray you can grasp it. Can I be of any further help? justme. |

191 | Moment of silence | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 91859
Howie: I think I would rather have a "moment of silence" than the massive multi religious service that was held shortly after the 9 11 disaster. I had no use for the prayers of the heathen, that were mixed with those of the Christian faith. In public school when I was young (8 Years old, I am now 58) we all said hail to mary, ate fish on Fridays, and even though is was a public school, Baptist had little infulance comparied to the Catholic Church. That was wrong. I do not approve of a cult leader or others having such an infulance on developing children. What we have now is not good in the public schools, but wwhere I grew up in Californis it was not right then either. My advice is train you own children, whom we are respomsible for to God. Be involved with your childrens school and look at the books they read ,and when you find something that is wrong challenge the School and their board. any thoughts? justme |

192 | Which study bible is the best? | Bible general Archive 1 | justme | 92016
jak:-) I read the responses to your question as to the study Bible. I saw no mentioned the NIV STUDY BIBLE by Zondervan publishers. This Study Bible is avalable in two translations, the NIV and the NASB updated. I have both and finde they more to my liking and where I am spiritually. I allso have the NIV Life Application Bible, which I think for those just starting studing Scripture. The Application Bible asks questions and gets you to see how to apply what you are reading. There is the Lockman Foundation Press NASB wide margin Bible in the NASB updated text. I have the one that is calfskin and Smyth Sewn. In the local Book store the calfskin is about 150 dollars and from this web sites opening page you can order it from either of two sourses, at about 110 dollars. No matter which Bible you deceide on get it whit genuine leather cover. Bonded leather is good for maybe two or three years as it fakks apart with good use. Leather can last a lifetime and Zondervan has a lifetime warranty on all leather Bibles. I have some leather Bibles that are 44 years ols and held up rather well for all they have been through. You rerally should go to a Christian Book store and take some time to look at as many as you can before making up your mind. Consider what your pastor uses as well. One thing I would say I think wwhen you get a study Bible which has the study notes from one person you are getting a narrow perspective, where as others have a group consenses as to what the verse is saying and alternitive views when it is wise to know. Have fun looking and making up your mind. Let me know what you pich, ok? Blessings. justme |

194 | why did Moses write Genesis? | OT general | justme | 84586

195 | JPED is OK? | OT general | justme | 89984
JJLOZ53: Welcome to the Forum! Wow you ar just reading these just for fun? I was forced to in seminary and hated it. Are you in a clas or something? J E P D assumes that moses did not write all of Genesis. Jesus said Moses wrote it, so who do we believe? Most typical those who adhere to this theeory are neo-orthodox in theology. These who hold to the J E P D theory would hold an Amillennalists view of the millennium as well. Tim was correct when he told you these type of believers mostly hold a low view of Scripture. This is not to say those who take the J E P D theory are not Christians. These believers also use alagory to explain many of Jesus' teachings as well. I have not yet found a conserative that would believe the J E P D theory. Hope this adds to what has already been said, justme |

196 | is god against mix marriages? | OT general | justme | 226026
akoola: Moses was married to a dark skinned woman. There is no Biblical reason why we cab not marry anyone because of race. No matter what race the person we marry must be a Christian! This being said, there are cultural differences that must be considered, and talked about before marring anyone of a different race, country, or denomination different than what we are. Blessings. justme |

197 | age of Issac during sacrifice | OT general | justme | 228253
dnqualls: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Just this last week this very subject was brought us on NRB tv. I do not recall who said this but they felt Issac was about 30 years old. Never before had I considered that age for Issac. Somehow I remember as a child all the Flannel Graphs showed Issac as a yound boy, not a man. The Flannel Graph sure shows my age, right? 198 | 1John 3:1 we must love in deed and truth | OT general | justme | 242637
Tdenh96: If you are a Marine thank you for your service, and welcome to the Study Bible Forum. Joshua trees also grow in the Antelope Valley, the high desert above L A. I lived there from 1953 until 1985. By that time many of those old beautiful odd trees were gone due to so many homes being built. I was not sure what your question was, so if you could repost it we will be gland to answer. Speaking of the gates of hell....have you removed you ticket to go there? I sure hope you know my Jesus. You know He loves so much he paid the price for our sins. Have you made Jesus your Lord yet? If not may I tell you more? Won't you write back and tell us more about yourself. I'll be looking for your post. justme |

199 | what is an Amen Offering? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 49128

200 | Arguing for the historical Jesus | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 49130
The "historical Jesus" you refer to is a beyond Neo-Outhordox. Any one in thsi group would doubt That the Jesus Christ we call Gods only Son ever truely existed. There are always doubters that come up with false or twisted history to disprove the divinity of Christ. Not only Christ but the authority of the Bible. Gods Word stands and Jesus is LORD and that is whom these unbelievers will someday answer to, so take heart. agape, justme |
