Bible Question:
Being my first question, I thought I would ask for an opinion on the best study bible out there. I'm actually looking one with wide margins, and good notes. If possible a KJV, NKJV, or NASB translation. Any help would be appreciated. I know this is not so much a Theological question, but it would fit under II Tim. 2:15, "Study to show thyself approved unto God." Which Study bible would best help me. Love in Christ jak |
Bible Answer: jak:-) I read the responses to your question as to the study Bible. I saw no mentioned the NIV STUDY BIBLE by Zondervan publishers. This Study Bible is avalable in two translations, the NIV and the NASB updated. I have both and finde they more to my liking and where I am spiritually. I allso have the NIV Life Application Bible, which I think for those just starting studing Scripture. The Application Bible asks questions and gets you to see how to apply what you are reading. There is the Lockman Foundation Press NASB wide margin Bible in the NASB updated text. I have the one that is calfskin and Smyth Sewn. In the local Book store the calfskin is about 150 dollars and from this web sites opening page you can order it from either of two sourses, at about 110 dollars. No matter which Bible you deceide on get it whit genuine leather cover. Bonded leather is good for maybe two or three years as it fakks apart with good use. Leather can last a lifetime and Zondervan has a lifetime warranty on all leather Bibles. I have some leather Bibles that are 44 years ols and held up rather well for all they have been through. You rerally should go to a Christian Book store and take some time to look at as many as you can before making up your mind. Consider what your pastor uses as well. One thing I would say I think wwhen you get a study Bible which has the study notes from one person you are getting a narrow perspective, where as others have a group consenses as to what the verse is saying and alternitive views when it is wise to know. Have fun looking and making up your mind. Let me know what you pich, ok? Blessings. justme |
